We Are All Pilgrims

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Hebrews 12:1 KJV

A Pilgrim is a person who journeys to a sacred place for religious reasons.

They are worshippers devoted to spreading the Word to anyone who will hear.

There are many of these pilgrims in Hebrews 11 that were devoted to this journey.

Pilgrims like Gideon, Barack, Samson, Jephthah, David and Samuel, to name a few.

Even today, there are pilgrims still spreading the Word all over the world.

Pilgrims like mothers, fathers, Sunday school teachers, youth leaders, missionaries and a host of others devoted to spreading the Word.

We are all called to be pilgrims.

Despite our difficulties, sins, delays, or discouragements, we must continue in this course of action.

In the end, when we have run the race and done the will of God, we will receive all that He has promised.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, the pilgrim journey is not always easy, but we strive to be obedient to Your Word and to be faithful to our calling.  We know there are many who need the Word. May we continue to follow the examples of those who walked in faith before us and spread It to those in need. Desiring not to live in everlasting misery but to receive the crown of glory You have for us.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
