Trials are the stumbling blocks we encounter as we go through life.
They are the circumstances that can cause us difficulty or hesitation.
When these difficult times come, it is not uncommon for us to seek instant relief and an immediate escape.
The solution may not be easy or the way we desire to handle it, but can result in a positive ending.
Abraham was going through a Spiritual test.
God allowed a life situation to occur to evaluate Abraham’s character and obedience to His laws.
All that he went through, the decision to sacrifice his son or disobey God, was a very difficult decision.
Abraham never lost faith in God and was about to sacrifice his son as he was told.
God stopped him, acknowledged his faithfulness and gave him back his son.
For his faithfulness, he also received the land where he was as an inheritance.
When things are going good in our lives, we are not so quick to turn to God.
That’s when God will allow us to go through some things to bring us closer to Him.
We have to realize that we can’t control everything in our lives and need to surrender and give the control over to God.
Even though we may not know what might be coming our way, remain faithful, follow the calling of God and watch Him perform and keep His promises in our lives.
We need to put our trust in God and keep the faith just like Abraham did.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the example regarding the trial of Abraham’s faith. For showing us the decisions we have to make in life may be difficult and trying, but if we simply and fully obey the call of God we will be blessed. Thank You for the knowledge to know how to endure any trials that may come our way.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
