Taken Out Of Context

Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.  Proverbs 30:6 KJV

Context is the setting within which a work or writing is situated.

It provides meaning and clarity to the intended message.

It creates a relationship between the writer and reader.

The context gives a deeper understanding of the intent and direction of the writing.

Taken out of context, can mean something is totally different from what it was intended to convey.

The resulting effect can be damaging to oneself and others.

That is why we must not take the Word of God out of context.

When we add or omit something to His Word, we open the way to errors and corruptions.

We do not want to misrepresent what God is saying to us.

If we do God will, often in a kindly manner, afford us the chance to correct a fault.

Failure to do so results in us being deemed a liar in His sight.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we know there is nothing in Your Word that needs correcting or to be modified. Keep us from trying to add to It or take away from it, because it only opens the way to errors and corruptions.  If we do speak out of context, Thank You Father, that we have the ability to correct ourselves and not be deemed a liar.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
