Our Relief

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

I just read about Good Riddance Day. I had never heard of it.

It is an unofficial December 28 holiday created by the Times Square Alliance, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization

It has been occurring since 2007, with the celebration occurring at New York City’s Times Square.

People are encouraged to come out, write down their bad memories and sufferings, or anything that they feel they need out of their lives.

They then throw them into an industrial shredder or an extra-large dumpster and show gladness for the burden being lifted.

We all long to “shred” some things out of our lives.  Be it a bad memory, any difficult times, anything we just feel needs to be gone.

The Apostle Paul felt this way when he wanted to get out of his present state of feeling weak due to the circumstances he was going through.

We all have felt like that too.

Just like Paul received a Word from God, we have too.

God has told us in His Word, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Don’t dwell on the things that are bringing you down, affecting your relationship with others, or on any of the things that are keeping you from staying close to the Lord.

He is our ‘official’ strength, everyday. Rest in Him,

God’s grace towards us will continue to comfort, enlighten and strengthen us in any and all situations we find ourselves in.

With Him, everyday is a day of ‘Good Riddance.’

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, it is so good to know that no matter the time or day we can bring any and everything to You in prayer.  We don’t have to wait in any long lines or the availability of any equipment. We just come to You in prayer and talk about it all. Thank You for Your grace and strength.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
