Proverbs 23:29 KJV
There are many who are suffering from some type of affliction or grief.
They have a feeling of deep distress caused by loss, disappointment, heated disagreements or other misfortunes.
For some, it leads to the excessive consumption of alcohol.
A sign of one’s drunkenness is noticed when a person begins to talk rapidly and continuously.
In a foolish, excited, or incomprehensible way.
Their actions can cause injury or hurt to their reputation.
The redness in their eyes is a sign that the body is producing adrenaline in response to the stress they are under.
It can cause one to do things they will regret.
In this chapter, Solomon is warning the people against the sin of drunkenness.
That it causes one to willfully do all those things that are displeasing to the Lord.
The punishment they will receive in the end if they do it.
That to be kept from sin, they must keep from all the beginnings of it.
The same hold true for us all.
Whatever we are going through, drunkeness doesn’t drown our sorrows or afflictions.
They will not die until we repent and give it all to the Lord.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we all do things that are not pleasing to You when we try to handle things on our own. We pray for redemption for those that use alcohol as their way to resolve their issues. May they realize You are there to help them through any and all situations. That You are the supplier of all our needs.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
