Romans 8:9 KJV
In Old English terms, “flesh” can be defined as a “living creature.”
Something that has the characteristics of life.
Biblically, “flesh” refers to the physical nature of human beings.
Both have valid meanings.
Jesus took on the characteristics of life, the physical nature of a human being, to redeem us from the sins of the world.
A nature took on to fulfill God’s plan to redeem those who have fallen.
A redemption needed because the flesh is always at war with the Holy Spirit.
A war that causes many to be lost.
The lost can be redeemed.
That’s when we need to talk to the Lord.
Praying, in our own words.
Giving Him authority over our lives.
Earnestly listening so we can hear Him talk to us.
Knowing He will give us the discipline and guidance that we need to endure.
So we are no longer in the flesh, but in the Spirit.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, Thank You for being the example of how not living in the flesh but in the Spirit is what God desires of us. May we continue to remember the sacrifice You made. The blessings You continue to give us. The power of the Holy Spirit to work in us, so we remain one of Yours.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
