Today’s Reading: Malachi 3:13-18
Today’s Verse: “And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.” Malachi 3:17 KJV
When we were little, we feared our parents. What would happen to us if we did something wrong? The joy we felt when they gave us something for doing good. We felt pain when we were punished.
They happened because our parents wanted to love and protect us. As we grew, we wanted the best in the end. We learned to appreciate the fear and joy we found. We had a desire to do right.
We care for each other. but the Lord cares for us more.
He wants the best for us all. But we know that the best comes when we live a righteous life. Not a wicked one.
Today’s verse is a promise from God to those of us who fear Him.
It tells of His special care for the righteous. It sets us apart from the wicked.
As His children, we are His special treasure. He will show us the tenderness a father shows his obedient child. He will shower us with mercy and grace.
We are precious to Him. He works to refine us for His glory.
His mercy will be seen in the future. In a time of judgement or redemption. This will be a time when he makes His people known as His own possession.
We want to be a people who fear Him. The ones that live according to the Word.
A person who speaks His name shows a great difference between them and those who are unfaithful.
We want to be the ones to confess that we are wise and happy. That we serve the Lord and trust Him. That we have a close, personal relationship with Him.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, just as a father spares his own son, we pray for Your tender mercy and protection. Set us apart from the world. Help us to fear Your name. To honor You in our thoughts, words, and actions. We want to live in a way that shows that we are Your children. We want to be vessels of Your love, joy, and peace. We want to reflect on the fruit of Your Spirit. We want to be found in Your book of remembrance. Thank You for Your love and guidance.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
