Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:3-11
Today’s Verse: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. 2 Corinthians 1:9 KJV
“Opportunity” is often looked at as a chance for someone to take a step ahead in life.
We love the idea of an open door. That favorable moment to take advantage of the chance of a lifetime.
It is in our best interest to look at opportunities the way that God looks at them.
Some of our worst circumstances can be God’s best opportunity. His chance to help us bring new meaning to our lives.
We see this happening in Apostle Paul’s life.
In his second letter to the believers in Corinth, he spoke on the best opportunity that we have.
He spoke of a time when he and his companions were under intense pressure. A pressure that was far beyond their ability to endure.
They even thought they were going to die (2 Corinthians 1:8 KJV).
Paul said that during those troubled times they learned to put their trust not in themselves “but in God which raiseth the dead” (2 Corinthians 2:9 KJV).
As we look at our lives, may we recognize the opportunities for God to teach us.
It may be during times of hurt or great loss. We may even have come to our end and given up hope.
Our experiences come to encourage trust, faith, and hope in God.
Knowing that He is always there to assist us.
We are not to trust in ourselves to solve our problems.
God uses all our setbacks to move us ahead.
Letting nothing hold us back if we believe in Him.
Let us give praise and thanksgiving for all He is doing in our lives. For all the benefits we have received. For all the benefits that are yet to come.
When we trust Him, He will bring new meaning to our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, there will always be something troubling that comes into our lives. Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes they seem to be hard to bear. May we look at them as opportunities not to do things on our own. But to trust in You to help see us through. To show how much You love and care for us. Thank You bringing new meaning to our lives. We do put our trust in You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
