Today’s Reading: John 14:18-31
Today’s Verse: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 KJV
Peace is more than the absence of conflict. It is a deep state of wholeness and completeness. There is harmony and a sense of well-being.
But most of all, there is a right relationship with God and others. Even in the midst of trouble.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27 KJV).
Peace is a divine gift from God. Jesus is the “Prince of Peace.”
Jesus spoke these words during the Last Supper. He was speaking to His disciples just before His arrest. He wanted to comfort them. He knew they were in distress because of His soon departure and suffering.
It was His command not to be overcome by fear or anxiety. To not worry about His pending death and future persecution.
His peace would provide strength. It would provide security. Even in challenging times.
To this day, the Savior offers us spiritual peace. A peace that is greater than anything this world brings.
Blessings come when we trust Him. When fear does not rule our lives. When we stop worrying about how things will turn out.
It is not a temporary relief. It is a deep inner calm and wholeness that comes from God. Outside influences no longer have control.
It is a promise of lasting hope. Our reassurance that He will always be with us. We stand firm in faith.
It is His gift to all mankind. One for all believers to hold onto amidst life’s storms.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that Peace is a divine gift from You. Jesus is the “Prince of Peace.” Jesus will always bring peace, safety, and renewed relationships. He gives us peace of mind. We should not let our hearts be troubled. We should not be afraid. You are always with us. Nothing can ever compare to the love You show us. Thank You for the peace You give.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
