Wonderful Outcomes – When You Know Who Jesus Really is!

Today’s Reading: Matthew 16:13-16

Today’s Verse: He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (Matthew 16:13 KJV)

We know that history is the study of past events.

Studying history allows us to learn about different things.

To see and understand how people all over the world behaved.

Throughout history, no one has made a greater impact on the world than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

But many people do not understand who He is.

Some believe His life began in a manger in the ancient town of Bethlehem.

But in reality, He existed long before that.

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:58 KJV).

He is a member of the Trinity.

Jesus is the eternal Son of God. This means He has no beginning or end (John 1:1-2 KJV).

The Savior’s birth in Bethlehem was His physical entrance into the world He created.

He was the Messiah who came to earth to carry out the mission given to Him by His Father.

During His mission, “He saith unto [the disciples], But whom say ye that I am? (Matthew 16:15 KJV).

It is the question each of us should ask ourselves and answer.

We need to make sure we know who He is.

Knowing there is no middle ground when it comes to deciding who Jesus is to us.

We need to know, “[He is] the way, the truth, and the life [and] no man cometh unto the Father, but by [Him]” (John 14:6 KJV).

In Matthew 16:16 KJV, “Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

“And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 16:17 KJV).

We all need the Lord’s help to understand who He is.

The best way to understand Him is to learn of His birth, life, and ministry.

The Bible has recorded it all.

Scripture after Scripture tells His history.

But simply learning what the Bible says about Him is not enough.

We have learned about who He is and what He came to do, now we must respond.

We need to decide what we will do with this knowledge of Him.

To hear the truth and reject it leads to spiritual death.

Like Peter we want the Lord to say we are blessed.

That the teaching of God made us differ from our unbelieving countrymen.

Acknowledge who He is.

Tell others about Him.

Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Our belief and acceptance of the Savior brings eternal life.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, throughout history, we know there have been people who have done remarkable things. But no one has made a greater difference in our lives than You. You are the Great I Am. The Giver of Life. May we continue to learn more about You and Your great works. Never being afraid to let others know about You. We want to be the one who believes and accepts Your ways. Eternal life is ours when we do. Thank You for always being there for us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
