Today’s Reading: Psalms 31:18-24
Today’s Verse: Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. Psalms 31:21 KJV
Praising God is easy when the things in life are pleasant.
But we know there will also be times we may find it difficult.
Because we do not see our pains and troubles as an expression of His loving care as well.
Those are the times we should not yield to impatience.
Letting a state of low spirits cause us to lose hope or courage.
Today’s reading tells us that the Lord has stored up goodness for us.
For those who take refuge in Him.
As we learn to know His character and trust His ways, we will see the evidence of His goodness in all situations.
Many of us can testify that we have not always felt that the Lord was being good to us.
The painful and difficult situations made it hard for us to have a true understanding of His goodness.
The more we look back, we prayerfully can see that He was using those times to shape our character.
To show us His love.
To give us the wisdom we need to handle any situation.
The more we strive to see things His way, and listen to Him, we will be filled with gratitude.
We will trust in His character.
Accepting the Father’s wise choices for our lives.
May we never forget that we live under the umbrella of God’s goodness.
All through the day, look for the signs of His loving care for You.
Making every effort not to let circumstances and emotions tell You otherwise.
Your deliverance will strengthen and comfort your heart.
You will have an atmosphere that is always filled with His joy and glory.
You will always see the signs of His goodness everywhere you turn.
We all can say like David, “Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city” (Psalms 31:21 KJV).
And to always, “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD” (Psalms 31:24 KJV).
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, forgive us for our complaints and fears. We praise You for the umbrella of goodness that covers our lives. We want to increase in patience, love, and gratitude. Teach us to rejoice in times of trouble. We know that they only come to make us stronger in faith. We put our hope and trust in You. Thank You for the deliverance we receive. For always being there for us.
