Commitment to Him: In Life This the Greatest Way

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 16:1-6

Today’s Verses: “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” Proverbs 16:3 KJV

When someone “commits,” they make a solemn promise or pledge. They make a serious and binding commitment to doing something. They are loyal or dedicated to the person, principle, or plan.

The Hebrew word for commit in this verse means “to roll over.” To release our worries, plans, and burdens into God’s hands.

This speaks to how important it is for us to approach God and His commandments with a sincere and earnest heart.

God’s renewing grace alone will prepare our hearts for every good work.

Our involvement determines the outcome of our actions.

When we commit ourselves to Jesus, we acknowledge that we need Him to guide us. That we are willing to follow His lead.

By faith we go to Him. We go because we know He will never lead us in a wrong direction. We can always depend on Him.

We know we need His help and support. We depend on His Word. We expect Him to do what He needs to do. Our commitment determines what He does. Our trust in Him.

Through prayer and seeking His Word, we know that this is the best chance for success.

When we align our plans with truth and seek God’s approval, we will always achieve the best result.

The Bible tells us, if you commit your works to the LORD, He will establish your thoughts. (Proverbs 16:3 KJV).

We can ask Him to search us. To lead us in the right way (Psalms 139:23-24 KJV).

He has already told us, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye” (Psalms 32:8 KJV).

We have to trust in God and not our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV).
Let us take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV).

Seeking Him for guidance and approval for all our efforts. We must ensure that they align with His will.

When we do we show that we know that God will provide stability. Our plans will be successful because they align with His Word.

The more we deny our flesh and stay focused on the Spirit, it will lead to life and peace (Romans 8:5-6 KJV).

Each day we must remind ourselves to seek God’s guidance and approval for all our efforts.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we must never forget that our actions or decisions will affect our outcome. You have told us that we can make our request known to You. We seek Your guidance. We want the peace that You have promised. It will come when we commit our lives to You. Help us to acknowledge Your ways. An abundant life. A life that is acceptable to You. That is our desire. Thank You for the love and care You show us each day.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
