Read: Psalms 103
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalms 103:2 KJV
A benefit can be seen as something that produces good or helpful results.
Something that promotes well-being.
We have so many benefits in our lifetime.
And like David we should be saying, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalms 103:2 KJV).
We are thankful that He has pardoned our sins, but there is so much more to be thankful for.
Each day we can see the wonders of God’s handiwork in creation.
The starry heavens when the moon is not out.
The moon going through it stages to fullness.
Golden sunsets at the end of the day.
Majestic mountains, and tall trees.
The music created by babbling brooks and waterfalls.
The birds in the trees speaking to each other.
Or even just admiring the beauty of the flowers seen growing in a field.
There is so much for us to enjoy.
May we never forget to take the time to thank the Father for not only saving us from our sins, but for “all His benefits.”
Our praise should come naturally as we truly begin to count all our blessings.
Let us take the time to single out a benefit that we have taken for granted.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, by Your grace and the comforts of the Spirit, we receive forgiveness of our sins. We have been given new life. With joy everlasting. The more we grow in our walk with You, let us remember all the benefits You have given us. All the beauty that can be seen around us. The magnificent works of Your hands. We cannot say it enough. But we do thank You for all of our benefits.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
