Sometimes in life things take a turn for the worse.

It can be a time when harsh words are spoken.

Resolving them can be hard, especially when we have feelings of hurt.

Making it where we make statements and decisions that we feel we have to stand behind.

Our feelings make it hard to forgive.

That is where our faith really comes into play.

We can always pray and allow the Lord to show us the path we need to take.

He knows how to manage any situation we face.

When we realize that things can change, we must be willing to change our minds and hearts.

Esau was one who was able to change his mind for the better.

Esau’s twin brother, Jacob, stole his blessing and he had every reason to be upset with him.

In Genesis 27:41 KJV we read that, “And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.”

But when it came time for them to meet again, Esau had a change of heart.

“Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept” (Genesis 33:4 KJV).

He took back his words of hard feelings.

He forgave his brother.

Deep down in his heart, he knew he was doing what was right.

Much tenderness passed between the two of them.

Any of us can have our own situations where we may need to do the same.

Remembering that humble, submissive behavior will always turn away wrath.

Letting the peace of God always prevail in our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we are not wrong to put our trust in You. To call upon Your name in the times of trouble. We know that the hearts of all men are in Your hands. That when we come to You in prayer You can turn them in the direction that pleases You. When our ways please You, the Lord makes our enemies be at peace with us. Thank You for showing us how to manage our situations and come out victorious.
