Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me…Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
2 Timmothy 4:9,11 KJV
There is nothing better than knowing that someone is in your corner no matter what you are going through.
Yes, prayers are much needed, but sometimes friendly conversation is what a person needs most.
That is what friends are for.
The conversations are even better because the Lord has told us, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).
The Lord will always give us the right words to say to meet the needs at that time.
That is how Paul was feeling as he sat in a dungeon awaiting execution.
We all know he had the Lord on his side but was longing for the companionship of his friends.
That is why he wrote asking Timothy to come see him and bring Mark with him.
He knew his conversations with them was to be of comfort to him.
The Lord knows our hearts and is always there for us.
He sees and knows that we will all have our moments.
Times when we desire to have someone physically there to give us a hug and say an encouraging word.
Someone that will allow us to talk and express our feelings.
There is nothing more rewarding than having a strong and healthy relationship with the Lord.
Having a strong and healthy relationship with those around us.
Being a friend and having a friend, that will be there no matter what.
Both are important for our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, friendships are important. We are grateful that we can call You friend. You are always there for us. But we also give You thanks for the friends we have in this journey called life. Ones that are there to give us a helping hand in our times of need. Continue to grace us with the ability to be there for them too. We know friendship goes both ways.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
