But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them. 2 Timothy 3:14 KJV
Childhood days.
Many of us can remember them.
We think about what it was like when we were in school.
How we thought what we were learning was tough.
When we got older and had children of our own, the system changed.
What they were required to learn was more challenging.
All due to the culture in which our children are growing up in.
It is not just the educational requirements that are getting harder, so is life.
Just like we begin to teach our children at an early age the things they will learn in school, we should do the same when it comes to making life choices.
There is so much sinfulness being openly displayed to our children, it is becoming harder for them to resist the temptation and do what is right.
As parents and those who care about their future, we notice the negative influences that challenge them to make wise choices.
That is why we need to talk with and teach our children the proper way to do things.
We are told, “That from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” 2 Timothy3:15 KJV).
Just like we were told things while we were young, we are to teach our children according to what the Lord has told us.
To teach them according to the Word.
Encouraging them to “continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them” (2 Timothy 3:14).
Let us be the one to let them know that even though the world is changing they can trust in God’s unchanging Word.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, just like our parents spoke wisdom to us when we were young and continued to say things to us according to the Word, as we grew older, let us raise our children in the same manner. Teaching them to love and fear the Lord. To let the Word be what they learn from because it never changes.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
