O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. Psalms 104:24 KJV
It is always great to find an article that speaks to what you are feeling.
I came across an article titled, “The Four Seasons of Life – How to Adapt & Thrive” by Ram Jain. *
It was one that gave inspiration to the fact that there will be times in our lives when things happen, how we can adapt to them and thrive though it all.
It started with a story about a king and his four sons and how he wanted to teach them an important lesson.
Deep in the forest there was a cherry tree.
In the peak of Winter, the eldest prince was sent to check on the tree. He came back and reported that it was barren, old and hopeless. That it looked useless and maybe it should be cut down and the wood used before it rotted.
In the middle of Spring, the second prince was sent to check on the tree. He came back and reported that the tree was not barren but was full of beautiful cherry blossoms. That it looked young and promising.
Then in the Summer, the third prince was sent to check on the tree. He came back and reported that the tree had no blossoms but was loaded with delicious cherries. That many birds were living on it. Enjoying the fruits.
Then came the Fall and the youngest prince was sent to check on the tree. He came back and reported that the tree no longer had any fruit or flowers but that it looked beautiful with its colored leaves with lovely shades of gold, red and orange.
The king finally asked his sons, “What did you learn from this experience?”
While the eldest three sons were thinking the youngest son spoke up.
He stated that, “like the tree, we experience different seasons of life, and we are greatly affected by them.” That “we should not judge our life based on only the current season in our life.” How “every season has a purpose.” And “no matter whatever the current season is, it will change again.”
The story truly describes the Four Seasons of our lives.
It shows Winter as bringing sadness, heartbreak, loneliness, sickness. Spring bringing hope, new beginnings, opportunities. Summer bringing signs of growth, need for protection, an abundance of distractions. Fall bringing signs of successes and achievements, failures.
Our success in any season is based on our Faith in God and the fact that we know all things were created by Him for our well-being.
A season of Spring is what the Psalmist in this chapter was describing.
The Psalmist was humbled by all the works of God’s hand and expressed it by saying, “the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works” (v.13).
And “how manifold [is God’s] works! in wisdom hast [God] made them all: the earth is full of [God’s] riches” (v.24).
How Spiritually, Spring is the season where the Lord inspires us to have hope, afford us the opportunity for a new beginning and a time to realize all the opportunities He desires to grant us.
A time for resurrection.
So, during all we are going through, we must remember to take the time to quietly think about God’s ability to bless us in any season.
Remembering that each season plays a part in what is growing in our lives.
That the way we handle things will make all the difference in how productive we are.
How we really look at things.
We are all creatures of the earth and have a place in His plans.
That in all we do, in the end, we will reap a “harvest of blessings.”
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, You are always there to provide for all the creatures of the land. There is no reason we should not believe that You would not provide for each of us, Your people. May we never forget all the Spiritual Blessings You have bestowed on us. That each season has a purpose in our lives. Thank You for the fruitfulness of grace, everlasting life, the cup of salvation and the overflowing oil of gladness. It is only because of You that we can make it through every season in our lives. We are so glad that You are there for us.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
