When a body completely stops breathing, it is considered dead.
But a body is also considered dead when a person lives a life that belongs to the night even though the day has come.
In the same manner, there can be a complete death in our spirit too.
When we fail to live according to God’s Word, our spirit is considered dead.
That’s why we have to be careful and take care of both.
If we don’t we can find ourselves accepting things as true when they are really false.
Keeping us in the bondage of sin, resulting in an unpleasant death.
As believers, when we repent of our sins, we are given the assurance that we can triumph over death and the grave.
Our assurance comes through the Word.
The Word that reminds us that Jesus took the sting out of death when He died and made atonement for our sins.
Death may try to seize us, but, as believers, it cannot hold us in its power.
All because, in the Word, we have the strength to withstand anything that life brings our way.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we thank You for the power we have over death through You. When we repent of our sins our bodies, spirits and souls are made whole. May the faith You have given us continue to increase. Increase so that we may not only be safe, but joyful and triumphant over death and the grave.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
