Diversity Can Be Good

And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles. Luke 6:13 KJV

Diversity is defined as the range of human differences.

Differences that include, but are not limited to, race, ethnicity, gender, age, national origin or political beliefs.

It means understanding that each one of us are unique.

Recognizing that we all have a set of opinions or beliefs.

That despite any of this, we can all work together for the good.

That is what the Lord was showing us when we read about His choice of disciples.

He was entrusting them with His mission.

A mission in which they would start as disciples learning about what God had in store for His people.

Rising to the state of an apostle, who was chosen to actually  spread the Word regarding the salvation of the world.

Knowing that by His grace and power, they could do it.

They just needed to see and learn how to work together.

Just like the disciples, we are learning from the Lord, our teacher.

Learning as disciples.

Striving to become an apostle that is sent to deliver the teachings we have received to others.

To be a messenger sent by God.

Taking great care not to lose time, but continue to learn, no matter the diversity, and teach others in the way of the Lord.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we are all called to be disciples and learn of Your Word. When we reach the level of an apostle, we are devoting ourselves to teach Your Word as well.   Whether a disciple or an apostle, may we continue to receive Your teaching and live accordingly.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
