We obtain knowledge on a daily basis.
We can hear what is being said, but applying it to our lives properly is what matters.
That is what the Lord is telling us in this verse.
We may gain Bible knowledge by hearing, reading or watching something.
But this knowledge is not complete until we apply what we have learned to our lives.
We have to act on what we learn rather than merely talk or just think about it.
Just like the Apostle James, we should be concerned about ourselves, as well as others.
Believers who have received the Word, but didn’t really let it touch our lives.
The result being self-deception.
An action in which we allow ourselves to believe that just because we heard what the Lord was saying we were complete.
Being hearers only of the Word will not bring us to Heaven. Being doers is what brings us there.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, Let the Word of truth not only be heard but done according to Your way. Knowing that It will set before us the things that You desire for our lives. Going forward we are not talking, but walking on the path that will bring us toHeaven.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
