Today’s Reading: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 / Psalms 32:8-11
Today’s Verse: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalms 32:8 KJV
While there is no single verse that directly says to stop and listen for God’s purpose, we do read in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV about God’s timing for different seasons of life.
It speaks about a time to act and a time to refrain from actions. This can simply mean to stop and recognize God’s will.
God calls us to step out of our comfort zones.
We gain spiritual insight. The ability to know the difference between truth and error. Good and evil. God’s will and human desires.
We study God’s Word for an understanding of His plan for our lives.
We depend on the Holy Spirit for accurate judgement. For true help in decision-making.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 talks about how life is characterized by changing seasons. That there is an appointed time for different events and purposes.
It shows that God’s perfect timing and control over events. How everything happens for a reason according to His plan.
Life is not a straight line. It unfolds in different stages or seasons. Each one has its own set of activities and purposes. Many are beyond human control.
But we are not alone.
In Psalms 32:8 KJV, God has promised that He will actively guide His people. That He will teach His people. He has promised to instruct us in the way we should go. To counsel us with a watchful eye.
We must listen and receive His guidance.
Verse 9 tells us; we must not be stubborn. He uses the example of a horse or mule. That we are not to be like a horse or mule that need a bit and bridle. That there is a need for humility and active listening rather than resistance to God’s direction.
With that said, I am stepping out in faith. I am not sure what my next step will be, but I am trusting God.
I will not be posting on a daily basis. I will post according to the beauty of His timing.
And like the Apostle Paul, in Philippians 1:3 KJV, I express my gratitude for you all. For our partnership in the gospel.
Thank You for your faithful participation. Thank you for the support in spreading the good news of Christ with me.
We each have a calling on our lives. Continue to spread the Word to those you meet along the way.
I am excited to see where the next phase of my Christian Journey will take me.
It is not over. Just another chapter that is being written.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that to everything there is a season. A time to every purpose under Heaven. There will always be a time for spiritual growth. A time when we have to make changes in our life. Let us take the time to sit back and listen to what You are saying regarding our lives. Your timing is always perfect. You have control over everything. Everything happens according to Your plan. We are thankful for the wisdom You give. We are thankful the joy You bring to our lives. May we always see the beauty in Your timing. Thank You for helping us step out of our comfort zones.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
