Today’s Reading: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10
Today’s Verse: For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. 1 Thessalonians 1:8 KJV
There was a time when newspapers were the social media network.
It was the way to spread the news about what was happening in our cities and around the world.
Now it is found through local television news or the internet.
These forms of spreading the news are constantly changing.
But the passing of information from one person to another through spoken communication will not.
Just like the Word, it will remain forever.
Having a great impact on those around us.
In this reading we read where the Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in Thessalonica.
He said, “For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing” (1 Thessalonians 1:8 KJV).
The message of the gospel went viral.
He congratulated them for their bold and joyful witness of Jesus.
They did it in spite of the difficulties and persecutions.
Spreading the Word has a powerful effect upon our hearts and lives.
Lives were being changed.
They are still being changed to this day.
Let us be the one who has no fear of expressing our faith in God.
Faithful followers of Christ who invite others to learn of His goodness.
We all have a story to tell.
Telling of God’s forgiveness.
Telling of the love He has for us.
That there is nothing too hard for our God.
How we can have eternal life through Christ.
There is no better news than that of the gospel.
Testifying of what the Word means to us is something we all can do.
Our kind hearts, helping hands, and honest words pave the way.
The Savior makes changes in our lives that are never ending.
Let us sound the trumpets of His goodness for all to hear.
When we spread the Word of His goodness the lives of others will change.
Spread the Word!
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know there are still individuals who have a fear of expressing their faith in Christ. But there are still some faithful followers who are not afraid. They gladly invite others to learn of His goodness. May we all get to the point where we spread the Word of His goodness. Boldly living and telling others about the love You have for us. Praying that many lives will also be changed. Thank You for all You do for us.
