Read: Joel 1
Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD.
Joel 1:14 KJV
It is so easy to form an attitude toward something.
The way in which we regard something.
We look at the world around us and the way things are going.
There are those who may be struggling, while there are others that are busy causing harm.
We all have our different points of view on the things we encounter in life and how we should manage them.
Many times we wish we could go back to the good old days when things seemed better.
Be careful what you wish for.
What we have to remember is that the Father has already given us an example of how to manage the situations that we face.
That He has already given us a heads-up idea of what may happen in our lifetime.
A guidance that will help us prepare for what we may face.
Hopefully making it easier to manage.
All leading to a satisfactory outcome.
In this chapter, Joel is telling the people about what is to come upon the land of Judah.
That it would be happening due to severe damage caused by locusts and other insects.
How the vineyards would be so damaged that the priests would not be able to squeeze out a drink offering.
All the fig, pomegranate, palm, and apple trees would be ruined.
Their whole agricultural foundation would be lost.
They would be losing the lifeblood of their economy.
That all of this was happening “because joy is withered away from the sons of men” (Joel 1:12 KJV).
Even though there were people that were upset about the situation, Joel still told the people that it was time to go into the house of the Lord.
That it is the right time to cry out to Him in prayer (Joel 1:14 KJV).
Prayer is always the key to getting the answers that we need.
We are always to turn to Him.
To trust Him without fail.
He will always lead us in the right direction.
Our strategy is to always keep Him as number one.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, there will always be something to face in this lifetime. We know that You are the only one who really knows what we are going through. The sorrows, the shame, and all our sins we confess to You. In faith, we come to You in prayer. You are the One who supplies all my needs. The One who is always there for us. Thank You Father for hearing our cries.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
