Faith-Testing Times – Actually Will Empower Us to be Strong

Today’s Reading: Job 23:1-12

Today’s Verse: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10 KJV

We all know that there will be times when our lives are filled with stress.

For those who are trying to live by the Word, we know it is a faith-testing time.

We should look at them as our faith-strengthening times.

In this passage we know that Job is having a challenging time after losing his livelihood.

His health was suffering, and he had lost his family.

Now Job was a daily worshipper of God.

But He was feeling like He was ignoring him. He did not understand why God was ignoring his pleas for help.

No matter what he did, he felt like God was absent from his life (Job 23-2-9 KJV).

In the midst of his despair, Jobe had a moment of clarification.

One that a glimmer of faith to shine in his life.

It was like a candle being lit in a dark room.

He acknowledged that “[God] knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10 KJV).

As a believer in Christ, we are tried and purified.

God will use our difficulties to burn away our self-reliance, pride, and earthly wisdom.

So when it seems like God is being silent and not hearing our cries for help, He really is giving us an opportunity to gain experience. To grow stronger in our faith.

Our character is changed for the good when we trust God when things get hard in our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we will always have moments that try our faith. Help us to remember that You are with us. To always trust and believe. Knowing that even when we cannot see you working in our lives, You are. We surrender ourselves to Your purpose. Our faith-testing times will always be at a time when our faith can be strengthened. Thank You that any suffering we may endure, we will make it with You.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
