Genuine Faith Brings Awesome Blessings for Generations to Come

Read: Genesis 12:4-10 / Exodus 14:10-12, 21-31

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

Genesis 12:7 KJV

There will be times when we will need Divine guidance.

And we know God reveals Himself and His favors to His people in different ways.

It can be physical as well as mental.

In this passage Abram had to move.

The Lord had spoken to him and directed him to go int the land of Canaan and he did (Genesis 12:4-6 KJV).

It was a tremendous change for him and his family.

He would be a stranger in the lands.

But knew that it was to be a temporary stay.

His courage was strong because he knew what the Lord had told him.

“The LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land.”

“And there [Abram] builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him” (Genesis 12:7 KJV).

Abram journeyed on through the mountains, building an altar to the Lord each time they stopped, until he reached Egypt (Genesis 12:8-10 KJV).

They had reached the land the Lord had promised to give them.

They kept faith in what the Lord had told them.

And in Exodus Chapters 13 and 14 we read where after God had freed the people of Israel from their Egyptian captor Moses reminded them of God’s promise.

How God had told Abram long ago that they would inhabit the land.

Faith in what the Lord says is important to all our lives.

We too have promises from God.

We will sometimes face trials and feel like God is not there for us.

Those are the times we must remember that “[He] will never leave [us] nor forsake [us]” (Hebrews 13:5 KJV).

That when we are faced with any of life’s problems commit them to Him.

This shows that we have the confidence that He hears our prayers and will answer them (1 John 5:14 KJV).

So during any times of difficulty, we need to let the Word be our guide.

Our faith in what the Lord has said keeps us strong.

Heaven is our ultimate location.

The greatest of all locations.

One where nothing but joy will be found.

But while on earth we yet live, the Lord will always bless us and those we love.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know there will always be difficulties that come our way. Change can sometimes feel uncomfortable. We question if what is right seems wrong. Those are the times we have to put our trust in You. Trusting in You to help tackle the problems of life. Because we know our faith in You is what keeps us strong. We are thankful to know that we can rely on the promises found in the Word. Thank You for always keeping them.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
