Today’s Reading: Luke 2:7-13 / John 16:16-24
Today’s Verse: And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:10 KJV
We all know that whenever someone says they need to talk to you, we think something is wrong.
But we know that is not always the case.
In this passage of Luke we read how God sent an angel to the “country shepherds abiding in the field.
The angel had been sent to deliver a wonderful birth announcement.
But when they saw him, they were frightened.
The angel told them to “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy.”
One that would bring immense joy to all the people (Luke 2:10 KJV).
The shepherds did not waste any time.
They made their way to the place.
They were satisfied with what they saw.
So satisfied that they made it known to others concerning this child.
Tell them that He was the Saviour, even Christ the Lord.
To this day, we are to be messengers for Christ.
Spreading the good news to all who will listen.
With the Holy Spirit, we will follow the Saviors example of spreading joy and serving others.
So, even when we feel like it may be bad news, let us keep our hearts fixed and trusting in the Lord (Psalms 112:7 KJV).
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to remember that to this day, Jesus still brings joy. That the news someone brings is not always bad. That even when we feel like it may be bad news, let us keep our hearts fixed and trusting in You. With the Holy Spirit dwelling among us we will have what we need to keep our joy. Making it where we will never cease to bring joy to others. You are a great joy to us all. Thank You Jesus and all the joy He brings to our lives.
