But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1 Timothy 6:6 KJV
Knowing what the greatest value in our lives is important.
It has a significant impact on how we do things.
For many, it is a monetary thing.
That money is the main factor.
Some come to realize that this is not true.
That despite all that money can buy, it does not bring lasting satisfaction.
For many, not even peace of mind.
They begin to worry about maintaining a wealthy life.
Fearing that their worldly possessions can be taken.
How they can lose value over time or lost because of bad decisions made.
Some of which can cause the person or families to be left without a place to call home.
As children of God we have the greatest advisor regarding riches.
We know that He will bless us with what we need to live a prosperous life.
It will come to pass the more we stand on the promises of the gospel.
Knowing that “godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6 KJV).
Making it where nothing can take the place of our faith and hope in Him.
It makes for a healthier, stronger relationship with Him and those around us.
The Savior is always giving us wise advice.
He has told us, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:14 KJV).
That our greatest wealth will always be found in our right relationship with Him.
Not when it is filled with desiring worldly things.
Heavenly wealth never loses its value.
It can never be taken from those who believe.
From those who keep a rich relationship with Christ.
Once we have it and stand by the Word it prospers.
Let us be the ones who have riches that can never be taken.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, give us the wisdom not to trade our faith in You for the things of this world. It will only lead to disappointment and loss. The world may be filled with things to make us rich here on earth, but nothing is greater than the riches we have in You. Earthly riches will pass away, but our Heavenly riches will not. They are priceless riches we find through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ones that make us rich beyond compare. Thank You for the wealth You bring to our lives.
