Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13 KJV
Discouraged?
We have all had our moments where we lose confidence in someone or something.
Where we no longer have an eagerness to keep trying.
How does the Bible define discouragement?
To be discouraged is when one no longer feels confident in what they had been doing before.
They no longer have the willingness to do it.
There is a lack of interest, motivation, and enthusiasm.
It is a spiritual attack called “a spirit of heaviness” (Isaiah 61:3 KJV).
It is one of the methods in which the devil is making war against God’s children.
He is doing everything he can to bring about our downfall.
In Psalms 42, David tells how he learned from experience how to defeat the feeling of discouragement.
He would talk to himself.
Because he needed to express his feelings.
Knowing that God was a source of hope and would hear every word he said.
It was his way of reassuring himself.
And through it all continued to have hope in God.
Giving Him praise for all that he was going through.
In the end finding the peace he needed to make it through.
So if you or someone you know is feeling discouraged, tell yourself like David did.
Have hope in God.
Praise Him for who He is.
The God of hope will fill you with all joy and peace in believing.
All so you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. ( Romans 15:13 KJV).
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, during times of discouragement, we know that by our own powers we will not reach a pleasant end. That through our hope in You it can be achieved. Where there is hope, the Holy Spirit abounds, and glory is found. Hope and faith work together. Together they give us the power to never give up, even in dark times. Thank You that hope, joy and peace will always be found through the powerful working of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
