Read: 2 Timothy 3:14-17 / Psalms 119:97-112
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV
As Christians it should be our desire to learn the things of God.
From the age of children we are encouraged to read the Bible.
It helps us to learn about life’s sinful ways and the need for the Savior’s guidance.
Our need to learn about the rights and wrongs of life.
There are some families that gather after their evening meal and read a chapter or two of the Bible.
They know the benefits of understanding God’s Word.
The Bible is a sure guide to eternal life.
The prophets and apostles who have written it did not speak from themselves.
They “spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Peter 1:21 KJV).
They were telling us exactly what God has told them.
Paul even declared, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV).
We all must have a desire to know the Holy Scriptures.
For they are the Divine revelation of God.
The Bible shows us the plan of God’s redeeming grace.
That we are the object of His love, even before we were born.
As we gain confidence in the Word, we find the wisdom and knowledge we need.
It will always show us the power of His redeeming grace.
Today decide to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Reading a chapter or two each day.
There are even some sites that have made suggestions on reading the Bible in a year.
You can do it with your family or have your own individual devotional time.
Let us all take the time to read the Bible.
To really come to know God.
What His plans are for our lives.
His plans are always great.
Providing the inspiration we need.
The wisdom and strength to fight the good fight of faith.
That when we do, no weapon formed against us will prosper.
In the end, the testimonies of how your life has changed will be encouraging to someone else.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know it is Your desire for us to gain as much knowledge as possible. The more we read the Bible, the more we get the knowledge needed to survive, You are always there to lead and guide us. There will always be something we will learn the more we read. We are thankful that although our situation may change, Your Word remains the same. Thank You for all the inspiration You provide. May we be determined to read a chapter or two each day.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
