Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 13:4-13
Today’s Verse: Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. 1 Corinthians 13:4 KJV
There will be times when we are unable to see God in the people around us.
There will be times when we struggle to express love in a way that teaches others about God.
We all have our weaknesses and needs.
That is why the Father has showed us what love is like.
He sent Jesus to die for our sins (John 3:16 KJV).
That is how much the Father loves all of us.
Jesus is the perfect example of love as described in 1 Corinthians 13 KJV.
He revealed some of the effects of charity.
He described the nature and effects of love.
He wanted to show the Corinthians that their conduct had, in many respects, been a contrast to it.
Charity is an enemy to selfishness. It does not desire or seek its own praise, honor, profit, or pleasure.
Jesus showed us what it meant to be charitable so we could determine whether we have this grace. And that if we did not, we should not rest until we had it.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not bast, it is not proud” (1 Corinthians 13:4 NIV).
The more we look to Him, we learn that we are loved, and we learn how to love just like Him.
Accepting His way to love is clear proof of our renewal.
A renewal that determines how strong our professed faith really is in Christ.
Keep showing His love.
With the love of God in our lives, we are likely to go on successfully in our own affairs.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, there is a Divine principle You have set regarding our charitable giving. It requires watchfulness. It requires diligence. It requires prayer. Charitable giving shows love. The same type of love You showed us. You showed it when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. No selfishness is to be seen. There should be no desires to seek our own praise or honor. We should not seek profit, or pleasure. Our hearts must continue to grow on the path of giving. The best way to show love to one another. Happiness and joy is always found when we show love. Thank You for being the best example on how to do it. We want others to see Your reflection in us.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
