Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10
Today’s Verse: We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 Corinthians 6:1 KJV
Not taking things for granted.
We are to appreciate those who are in our lives. We are to appreciate all the things we have. All that we have been blessed with. Never assuming that they or it will always be available.
The gospel is a Word of grace. It is a sounding in our ears. The means of our salvation.
The Scripture tells us, “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain” (2 Corinthians 6:1 KJV).
In this passage, the Apostle Paul is writing to the Corinthian church.
He is making known that he and his companions were co-workers with God. Appealing to them to live in a way that reflects the grace they have received.
Not letting God’s grace be wasted or ineffective in their lives.
He is urging them not to receive God’s grace in vain.
The same applies to our lives.
We are not to live our lives in vain.
It can show itself as a failure to act on opportunities to do good. Our failure to resist evil. Our failure to pursue righteousness.
We defeat it all by praying and seeking God’s guidance. Living a life of obedience. Living a life of love. Living a life of service.
This is how we are to be actively responding to God’s grace.
Relying on His power. Recognizing that our strength comes from Him. Allowing us to act with confidence.
Letting nothing keep us from being successful in doing His will.
Actively be engaged with God’s grace. Never take it for granted.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we come before You, humbly asking for the grace to partner with You in Your work of salvation. Like the Apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthians not to receive Your grace in vain, we pray that we too would not receive Your grace without it impacting our lives. It also impacts on the lives of those around us. Help us to be a clear reflection of Your love, joy, and peace. Open our hearts to Your will. Grant us the wisdom and strength to live out Your calling.
We pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen
