His Love: Greatest Way to Overcome Evil with Good

Read: Romans 12:9-21

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Romans 12:9 KJV

The Father has told us that love it to be shown to everyone.

It is a way in which we relate to others.

It can be shown when we put someone else’s need before our own.

It goes beyond our feelings of affection.

Today’s Scripture tells us, “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good” (Romans 12:9 KJV).

Love is sacrificial and self-giving.

Those who are in Christ know that this is what He did for us all.

That our showing of love is a command that demands obedience.

The professed love of Christians to each other should be sincere,

True love is merciful, compassionate, sympathetic, kind, generous and patient.

It is shown through our actions and truth, not just our words.

It is to be free from deceit, and unmeaning and deceitful compliments.

We are not to be caught up in the things of this world.

The more we walk in the love of Christ, we have the ability to beat the advances of evil ways.

To “cleave to that which is good.”

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, You have told us to detest and dread all evil. That we are to show love in the things that we do. The same love You showed us through the sacrifice of the Savior. How true Christian love will make us take part in the sorrows and joys of each other. Always laboring to agree on the same spiritual truths. Making it possible for us to delight in whatever is kind and useful. Thank You for letting us call upon You for the strength we need to escape the temptations that come into our lives. A strength that allows us to show love.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
