His Plan Really Leads to the Most Successful Endings

Today’s Reading: Numbers 13:26-32 / 14:20-24

Today’s Verse: But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it. Numbers 14:24 KJV

In all we do, we should be completely and sincerely devoted to it.

Biblically, we should be completely and sincerely devoted to following the Lord.

Living according to the Word.

Following Him with our whole hearts and souls. Serving Him without any reservation.

Caleb is an example of what this really means.

Along with Joshua and twelve other men, he was a part of an inspection team.

They were sent to explore the Promised Land.

In the end, giving a report to Moses and the people.

We read that, “Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30 KJV).

He had confidence that the mission would be successful.

However, there were ten members of the team that said they could not possibly succeed.

They had forgotten about God’s promises.

They could only see the things that would block their way. The things that would stop their progress (Numbers 13:31-33 KJV).

Because of these ten men, the people lost heart and grumbled against God.

They had forgotten what God could do.

This led to forty years of wandering in the desert.

But Caleb was the exception. He never quit.

He was standing on what the Lord had told Moses.

His faith caused him to find favor in the sight of the Lord.

“Because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it” (Numbers 14:24 KJV).

God honored His promise to Caleb, and he received the city of Hebron.

It happened all because he “wholly followed the LORD God of Israel” (Joshua 13:14 KJV).

May we never forget God’s greatest commandment.

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22:35-38 KJV).

Today, Caleb is still to be our inspiration.

The Savior deserves every bit of our love, trust, and commitment.

The plans for our lives have already been written.

Plans that only lead to successful endings.

It is up to us to acknowledge and receive them.
