Read: Zechariah 4:1-7 – Romans 10:1-17
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6 KJV
As Christians, there is no doubt that we have a love for those around us and want the best for them.
We want them to acknowledge the love Christ has for them.
To turn from their sins and live a life filled with the promises of God.
Those are the times we have to remember that the Lord has told us, “Not by might, nor by power, but by [My Spirit]” (Zechariah 4:6 KJV).
Knowing that no matter how much we profess our faith, we cannot make the choice for them.
We can only plant the seed and continue to water it.
They must personally receive Christ as their Savior.
That is when the life-changing work of the Savior will begin to prevail in their lives.
In Romans 10, we read how the heart of Apostle Paul was broken over how his fellow Jews had yet to receive Christ.
He desired that they would come to Christ but knew that it was a decision that they had to make.
That their right decision would only be made as the Lord moved in their hearts and they accepted the truth of the God’s Word.
The same holds true for us to this day.
We can only say so much.
At that point, the Lord’s all-powerful Spirit will confirm what we have been telling them.
The Lord is strong enough to break down any mountains (Zechariah 4:7 KJV).
All we have to do is continue to plant the seed and He will give the harvest.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that sometimes it may seem like our witnessing is in vain. That our words of encouragement have no meaning. It is not and it does. Both have an effect on someone’s life. Help us to remember that by Your Spirit we are on the right track. We are planting Your Word into a soul that needs to be saved from sin. Desiring that they get a new heart that is filled with the power found in You. Praying they realize that You are the One who can knock down any mountains that arise in their lives. Always being determined to help the garden of believers continue to grow. Never forgetting that daily a new heart is being fitted for Heaven. All because we kept spreading the Word. Thank You Father for giving us the strength to listen to Your leading.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
