His Truth – In Life This is a Powerful Commitment

Today’s Reading: Psalms 31:1-8 / Proverbs 12:17-22

Today’s Verse: Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. Psalms 31:5 KJV

Truth is essential in all our interactions. It builds trust.

Truth should be found in the halls of government, the classroom, the workplace, the home, and the church.

It is doing and being in God’s will in a consistent and obedient manner.

He is our real source of truth.

Throughout the Book of Proverbs we read how God feels about moral and ethical principles. His standard of truth is held high.

“The LORD detests lying lips” (Proverbs 12:22 KJV).

He has told us, “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out” (Proverbs 10:9 NIV).

That, “Truthful lips endure forever (Proverbs 12:19 NIV).

In this passage David was a man in distress and trouble.

He had great concern about his spirit and his soul.

He knew what it meant to put his trust in God. To honor Him for all that He was doing in his life.

Like David, we honor God when we acknowledge Him as our Redeemer and the “Lord God of truth” (Psalms 31:5 KJV).

There will always come a time when worldly affairs and care can put us in a state of worry and fear.

But the more we put our trust in the God of Truth, the outward man may perish, but the inward man will suffer no damage.

The more we stay rooted in the Word, our souls are redeemed.

As we press forward in life, may the Truth of the gospel continue with you.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that Jesus came as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Shoeing us how every believer will meet with dangers. That there is a way for our deliverance. How everything we face is a way of learning how to come to You. So we might learn and be in Your will. Knowing that the more we walk in Your truth and wisdom, others will be drawn to You too. Thank You for Your powerful truth. To tell the truth may we never fear.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
