Hope and a Promising Future, Really What God Desires

Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 29:1-19

Today’s Verse: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

The written word of God is as truly given by inspiration of God as His spoken Word.

In this chapter, two letters are sent to the captives in Babylon.

In the first letter, they are told to be patient and composed (Jeremiah 29:1-19 KJV).

The Prophet Jeremiah wrote to the captives in Babylon.

Reminding them that as a servant of the Lord they are to have an intense and passionate devotion to God. They are to use every means to serve Him and promote His purposes. That the Father wanted them to do good. To those who were far, as well as to those who were near Him.

The letter was to show them that even though God was displeased and corrected them, He had not forsaken them. That God would show them mercy and love.

He has told us, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV).

We fear that God’s designs are all against us. But, with God, even that which seems evil, is for our good.

He wants us to walk by faith, Not in fear.

Never forgetting the end He has promised. Which will be the best for all of us.

In all conditions of life, it is our wisdom and duty not to throw away the comfort of what we may have, because we have not all we would have.

Just like the captives Jeremiah was speaking to, we are directed to seek the good in our situation.

We must live quiet and peaceable lives under God. Living in all godliness and honesty. Patiently leaving it to Him to work deliverance for us in due time.

He hears our prayers. A happy ending is always His desire.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that Your Word comes to inspire us. To give us the hope that we need in times of trouble. It is a written reminder that You are always thinning about us. That You want us to live in peace. Give us the strength to keep standing on the Word. Never forgetting what our expected end will be. The one in which we have a home in glory with You. Thank You for always being there for us. You always know what is best for us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
