Humbly Proud

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  James 4:6 KJV

There is nothing wrong with having a feeling of pleasure or satisfaction, especially when it is regarding a personal achievement.

It is when this personal achievement begins to have or show a feeling of being better than others that problems begin to occur.

We have or show a high or excessively high opinion of ourselves. Our importance.

When we do this we forget all that the Lord has done for us.

We begin to resist the truths of God.

Because of our proudness, God begins to resist us.

All in an effort, that by doing so, it will counteract or defeat the enemy of the “wrongfully” proud mentality we have.

When we are not humble, we will stumble and fall.

We become humble when we apologize for our actions.

Giving God the respect and esteem He is due.

Due because of the grace and mercy, He has shown us.

When we submit ourselves to God, He is ready to do us good.

To take away our sinful pride and help us stay close to Him.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we know that the temptation of being proud allows the devil to continually follow us, causing us to stray.  Let us humble ourselves, put on the whole armour of God, and stand against him.  Causing him to flee.  Submitting ourselves to God, and seeking His grace and favor. Knowing He will always be by our side.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
