Read: Psalms 1
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:2,3 KJV
There are many things that we take much delight in doing.
Reading should be one.
Reading and studying the Bible should be the main book on our list.
To get a better understanding of what the Father has in store for our lives.
What we learn and put to use depends on us.
We must bring the right attitude when studying the Bible.
To start we approach the Bible with a sense of our own needs first, not because we want to teach it to someone else.
Secondly, we approach it with humility.
We are not to try to make the Bible to say what we want it to say.
We are to study it to come to understand what God has said.
What He is telling us.
The more we study, our delight will be in the “law of the Lord, and in his law [we will] meditate day and night” (Psalms 1:2 KJV).
We “shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” (Psalms 1:3 KJV).
Reading and meditating on God’s Word helps us to better communicate with Him.
We learn what it means to freely go to Him with all our concerns.
To express our thoughts.
To wait for a Divine answer that will help us to understand what He wants us to know.
It is good to know that not only does our studying the Bible inform us of many things, but it also transforms us into the person He desires us to be.
Let us continue to take seriously the Word of God.
To meditate on it both day and night.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us not to be afraid to learn what is in the Bible. The words and thoughts have great meaning. Everything that is in it is for our good. They keep us safe from sin. May we take the time to read a portion daily. The more we read, the more we will have a desire to learn more. Thank You for the cleansing and peace You bring to our lives.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
