Today’s Reading: Romans 11:33-12:2
Today’s Verse: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1 KJV
The key to successful gift-giving should not be based on how much money we spend on a gift.
We all know what our limits are.
It is better to give something wanted or needed.
Our listening to one another is where it starts.
This is how we find out what they really enjoy and appreciate.
The same holds true with our relationship with the Father.
The more we listen to Him, the more we know what He likes.
What gift we can give Him.
The Apostle Paul had a powerful appeal.
He knew what that gift should be.
And he wanted the people to know how affordable and great this gift would be.
It was a gift that gave honor to God.
In Romans11:33-36, a song of praise to God is given.
It was acknowledging His great wisdom, knowledge, and glory.
It was followed by a call for all to give themselves to Him.
In Romans 12:1, he said, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Our best gift to God is shown when we give ourselves completely to Him.
Coming to Him with gratitude, humility, and love.
Acknowledging that we know our hearts, minds and wills is what He desires.
Never forgetting that we receive from the Lord every day the fruits of His mercy.
That the best gift we can give the Father is ourselves.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that gifts have great meaning. Especially when they are lovingly given. That is what we want our gift to You to be. We want to give ourselves to You. All that we are, and all that we have. Doing all that we can do. Our hearts, minds and will we give to You. We come to You in humble service and thankful worship for all You have done for us. We gladly give ourselves to You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
