“Judge Not” Is the Greatest Command for Being Humble

Today’s Reading: Romans 2:1-4 / Matthew 7:1-5

Today’s Verse: Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Romans 2:1 KJV

We all face challenges in life.

The decisions we make are important.

We all have our faults.

Faults can be defined as weaknesses. It is not good when we allow our weaknesses to control our lives.

We fail to reach some standard of perfection in our actions or habits.

In the Bible, it means an error, failure, or sin.

Our spirit is marked by an overall negative view of life. We have a negative view of other people.

There is unforgiveness or bitterness towards others.

To overcome this, we must be aware of it. To understand what is happening.

It is good to know that it is something we can control.

We must maintain a positive attitude.

We must learn to forgive. To seek to build others up instead of tearing them down.

Remembering that the judgment of God will be according to our real character.

The Apostle Paul said, “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think.”

“But to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3 KJV).

Even to the church in Philippi he wrote, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory.”

“But in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves” (Philippians 2:3 KJV).

We are passing judgement on ourselves when we fail to follow the Lord. When we begin finding faults in others. (Matthew 7:1-2; Romans 2:1-3 KJV).

None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes.

We need to determine what is causing our weaknesses.

Once we determine what they are, we can address them.

We can do it through prayer.

Asking the Lord for the wisdom that we need. The guidance we need to monitor how we do things.

Knowing that He will place people in our lives that can help us on this journey.

It is important for us to follow all the instructions He gives.

His Word is always there to keep us walking in the right direction.

So, when we see faults in someone else, we need to think before we say anything.

Choose the good and refuse the evil.

Our motives should be pure.

Rejecting all actions from earthly ambitions or ends.

We all must be patient with the faults of each other.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we are not to judge one another. That in whatever way we judge one another, we condemn ourselves. When we see faults in someone else, we must look at our faults first. We must never forget we all have something to work on in our lives. That is why we must show the same compassion we desire in our times of need. Our thoughts and actions should show thankfulness. Our actions should be one that shows we care and understand. Let us look beyond our thoughts. Let us see each other’s needs. Thank You for guiding us in the right direction.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
