Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
Today’s Verse: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
With just about every decision we make in life there is some doubt about what the outcome may be.
We hope for the best but know we should also prepare for the worst.
We struggle with knowing the path we should take.
Thankfully, there is a reliable course we can follow.
One where no matter what happens, we know that in the end it will not be a wasted effort.
It is the path that the Father has already laid for our lives.
In this passage, the Apostle Paul spent a year with the followers of Jesus in Corinth.
Corinth was a city known for its moral corruption.
He was there to remind them of what the Savior had for their lives.
After he left, he sent them a letter. He was encouraging them to follow up on what he had told them.
How they were not to be discouraged or feel that their witness for Christ was of no value.
Assuring them that the day was coming when the Lord would return and even death would be swallowed up in victory (1 Corinthians 15:52-55).
In verse fifty-eight, we are encouraged to remain steadfast and firm in our faith.
To be unmovable in our hopes and expectations of being raised incorruptible and immortal.
To abound in the work of the Lord, always doing the Lord’s service. Obeying the Lord’s commands.
In the beginning remaining true to the Savior may be difficult. It may be discouraging and even dangerous. But it is never pointless or wasted.
The more we walk with the Lord and witness His presence and power, our lives are not in vain.
Christ gave us hope and faith. The more we put our trust in Him, we increase our faith.
Making it where we are not only safe, but joyful and triumphant.
Keep standing strong. Letting nothing move you.
Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, in those days when we have doubts, let us hold fast to Your promises. Knowing that our labor for You will accomplish Your purpose. That everything we do is of immense value in Your eyes. Thank You for giving us the faith we need. We are not only safe but will be joyful and triumphant in the end. We can always be sure of that.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
