Today’s Reading: Psalms 16
Today’s Verse: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalms 16:11 KJV
Many of us grew up in church. Attending Sunday School on Sunday morning.
We remember memorizing the golden rule. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Knowing it was based on Matthew 7:12 KJV which states, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”
We knew the story of how Jesus came to set the sinner free. About the path that led Him to Calvary. How He rose. That He is sitting in Heaven watching over us.
As we grew, we had our times of trials. Thank goodness the seed of the Word had been planted in our hearts.
It gave us the desire to seek Him. To read the Word. The more we did, the Lord became everything to us.
We never stop acknowledging Him as our Redeemer and Provider. The One who provides shelter, healing, and deliverance.
He is the giver of peace. Joy in sorrow. He is our hope for tomorrow.
We can depend on Him.
David had a deep trust and reliance on God.
He said, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalms 16:11 KJV).
He knew that God would reveal the way to a fulfilling life. One that offered unending joy. One where he would delight in His presence and guidance. A true and lasting happiness.
He knew God would keep him and secure him in life.
To this day, the Lord is still our source of true joy. He wants us to live a fulfilling life.
The Lord provides strength, guidance, and ultimately eternal life. It is up to each one of us to claim them through His guidance and presence.
He is everything we will ever need in life.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we are living in uncertain times. Many are just coming to realize how fragile life can be. The words David spoke are precious. They have great meaning. We all need guidance from the Lord. To be in His presence. We need to be living testimonies to how loving and gracious You are. We want the world to know that through Your love and guidance things can change for their good. Thank You for being our Redeemer and Provider. The One who provides shelter, healing, knowledge, and deliverance. You are everything we need in life. Help us to remain steadfast in Your Word.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
