Life is Much More Powerful When You are Thankful

Read: Romans 1:18-25

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Romans 1:21 KJV

To be “thankful” means we are conscious of the benefits we have received.

We are grateful for the kindness shown,

Always responding in a positive way.

Expressing thankfulness has an effect on the one who shows it as well as the one who receives it.

The Father desires us to show Him that we are thankful.

We see this in today’s reading.

The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Romans.

He addressed it to the believing as well as, the unbelieving.

He explained why showing thankfulness is important to God (Romans 1:21 KJV).

He told them that they would stand guilty before God for not showing this.

Guilty because they received His blessings without honoring Him.

Thankfulness is a sense of gratitude that comes naturally.

Praising Him for the fact that we are alive and have the activity of our limbs.

It can be shown when someone feels the warmth of the sun or smells the freshness that comes with a gentle rain.

It is shown when we acknowledge the wonderful feeling that comes from a loving relationship.

The Father does magnificent things for us daily.

But more often than not, some fail to acknowledge this.

Let us change our ways of thinking and how we do things.

Always remembering to give God thanks for all He has done.

The more we show an attitude of gratitude, the more we please God.

It also shows others that we know where our blessings come from.

That the same can happen in their lives.

Our faith will always flourish when our hearts are filled with gratitude.

We receive more Divine revelations the more we thank and seek Him.

Trusting and believing in all that He promised in His Word.

All the blessings He has for us.

Singing songs of praise and worship.

Great should our thankfulness be to Him.

Take the time today to think about all He has done.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we thank You for the blessings You send our way. We may not say it all the time, but we know we are blessed. Help us to understand Your desire to hear us express our gratitude. Praying and giving You praise daily. Forgive us for the times we may forget. We are not trying to take anything for granted. Again we thank You for all that You are doing in our lives. For all the blessings yet to come. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
