We have been blessed to live wonderful lives.
Lives filled with heartfelt relationships.
Remembering the many memories of the times we have shared with others.
It is natural for man to fear death.
Making the thought of our separation all the more difficult.
The comfort is in knowing that if we are true believers, Christ means everything to us in this life.
That we spend our lives testifying of His goodness,
Knowing that if we have lived a life glorifying Him, when we die, we have even more to gain.
The apostle expressed the difficulty we face is not between living in this world and living in heaven.
There was no comparison.
The difficulty is between serving Christ in this world and whether we will enjoy Him in another.
We should choose the latter.
To serve and enjoy.
God has given us life, because He has a heavenly assignment for each of us.
An assignment that shows the power of our faith and of His Divine grace.
In the end, rewarding us with the blessing of eternal life, with Him in Heaven.
Our greatest gain.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, as believers we can know all of the facts and have no fear of death at all. The fact that if we live according to the Word and follow Your guidance, we will live a bountiful life. That when it is time for us to come home to You in Heaven, we would have an even greater life.
Being just like Paul, willing to be absent from this body that we might be present with You Lord.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
