It is not uncommon for us to go to the grocery store or farmers market looking for some good fruit.
We look at the appearance and choose what looks good to us.
Only to find that on the inside it does not taste like we thought it would. It was not sweet or of the quality needed to satisfy us.
That’s what the Lord was warning us about.
That our outward appearance does not always show what is truly inside.
While we would seem to be godly, we are not wise in our thinking, nor righteous.
Our outer motives only make it seem like we are clean, but on the inside we are not.
Unlike with the fruit, we have the ability to change the inside to be as becoming as the outside.
There is nothing between sinners and eternal happiness, but the proud, unbelieving and unwillingness to change.
Our hearts and spirits can be made new.
Becoming the fruit that is pleasing to the Lord.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we want to be the fruit that not only looks good on the outside but is all that You desire on the inside. We are so glad You know us for who we are and will help us to be all that You desire. That we will live according to the Word and be an example to someone else that change is possible.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
