Today’s Reading: Matthew 10:37-42
Today’s Verse: He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:39 KJV
Losing our old ways of life can be beneficial.
We may feel like we are losing but, in the end, it is for our good.
Finding life when we lose it is what Jesus promised His apostles.
When the twelve disciples were instructed to share His good news, they were asked to love Him more than their mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters (Matthew 10:37 KJV).
The Savior’s words came in a culture where families were the cornerstone of society.
Families were highly valued.
But it also came with a promise.
He promised that if they would lose their lives for His sake, they would find it (v.39).
Many of us may not have to move abroad to find ourselves in Christ.
But we can still do like the disciples did. Through our service and commitment, we can go out and share the good news of the kingdom of God.
Knowing that when God calls us to speak for Him, we may depend on Him to teach us what to say.
Finding ourselves receiving more than we give through the rich abundance of love the Lord showers on us.
It is our duty, not only to believe in Christ, but to profess that faith.
All should desire to find contentment, meaning and fulfillment when they pour themselves out for the well-being of others.
Let us boldly confess Christ and show love to Him in all things.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, there is a call on each of our lives. It is Your desire that we commit ourselves to living according to the Word. That we pour ourselves out for the well-being of others. Telling all about the faith we have in You. Just like the Savior did for us all. We know it will not always be easy, but we know You will lead us through. May we remain steadfast in the Word and watch You lead us to glory. Thank You for leading and guiding us.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
