Luke 2:7 KJV
There are many missionaries that travel all over the world seeking to help those in need, those that feel like they don’t belong and bring the good news of our Lord.
Before there were more modern hotels and inns for anyone to stay in, there were village inns.
Inns that were crowded, no separate rooms, individuals and families were sleeping on bedrolls.
Some were so crowded, they couldn’t accept anyone else. They had to look for other options.
That was the situation Joseph and Mary found themselves in.
There were no rooms left at the inn they stopped at, but the owner had room in his barn and offered it to them.
They still had some miles to travel, Mary was pregnant, they all needed rest.
It wasn’t the environment that anyone wants to be in but, because of the circumstance, they accepted it.
It was actually a blessing that they did. It was not crowded and more private.
A blessing because Mary went into labor and gave birth. Gave birth to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We can go through many things in life, but through the eyes of faith we can receive the provisions God has in store for us.
Just like the provisions God made for Mary and Joseph in their time of need.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, there are times in our lives when we don’t know if we are coming or going. Thank You for providing us with the things we need to survive. Help us to realize that no matter what our situation looks like, You are there, making a way for us. We just need to make room to receive it.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
