My Friend

To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. Job 6:14 KJV

Have you ever felt alone, like no one cared?

We all have.

A feeling of disappointment that is brought on because the expectations we have formed aren’t being met.

Job had the same feelings about his friends.

He had formed great expectations and because he did not receive them, like he wanted them, he was disappointed.

Friends can’t always be there when we need them, not because they don’t want to be there, they just can’t.

Likewise, we can’t always be there for them either.

Job recognized his error, no longer found fault with his friends.

He began to put his confidence in the Lord.  Because the Lord is always there.

That’s why the Lord has told us to recognize our errors in what we think and to put our confidence in Him.  He is always their to listen to us and help us.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we thank you for our friendships. Reaching out with open hands to acknowledge the fact that we realize we can’t always be there for each other, but know You are always there.  We commit our lives to You today and forevermore. We give You all the praise, our forever friend.

In Jesus name we pray, Ame
