Today’s Reading: Matthew 14:13-23
Today’s Verse: And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. Mathew 14:23 KJV
Busy days. All of us can have them.
Tines when we are overwhelmed, and we need to take a moment to relax.
Even the Savior knew what it meant to take the time to relax.
In today’s reading, Jesus was headed to a solitary place.
He knew He needed some time alone.
He was on His way when a crowd of people began to follow Him.
He noticed their need and miraculously healed and fed them.
“And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone” (Mathew 14:23 KJV).
We know that Jesus was always helping multitudes of people.
But He did not allow Himself to become exhausted.
He did not allow Himself to be forced into making a quick decision.
He always knew when it was time to relax and connect with the Father through prayer.
We all need to be aware of when it is time to relax for a moment.
We all need to take time alone with God.
To pray and seek His face.
In His Word we are told, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 KJV).
When we draw near to God our minds are refreshed.
When we draw near to God our strength is renewed.
Will you take time alone with God to experience His strength and refreshing love?
It is the greatest atmosphere to find the peace and relaxation we all need.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know our days can be stressful. Days we have so much to do that we have trouble seeing how we will get it done. Taking the time to relax and pray is what we need to do. To draw near to You is the greatest thing in our lives. Our minds are refreshed. Our strength is renewed. As the older generations would say, “just a little talk with Jesus makes it alright.” Thank You for allowing us to come to You and find rest through our prayers. For always being their for us. We are truly blessed.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
