Opportunities: This is a Great Time for Opening Doors

Read: Revelation 3:14-22 / Luke 19:41-44

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 KJV

To be persistent means to continue to try to do something.

At times it may be challenging.

There will always be times when someone is trying to stop us.

Those are the times we have to remember that our Heavenly Father went through the same thing.

From the times of Adam and Eve, He knew that mankind was doing things the wrong way.

Century after century He would send prophets as His messengers.

Trying to get people to understand what it means to live a godly life.

They would call upon the people of Isreal to accept the Word.

That God was their faithful covenant-keeper.

But despite their efforts, the people continued in their selfish and sinful ways.

But that did not stop the Master.

He kept trying to get them to change their ways.

Ultimately, at Bethlehem, the Father gave even more of Himself.

He came in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Once again, opening up the door for those who were in sin to come to Him.

The Savior tried to let them know what the Father desired for them.

How they might have riches, but what the Father had for them was greater.

That it was an everlasting peace they all should desire.

That they all could have.

But it could only happen when they no longer let sin and self-righteousness rule over their lives.

To this day, the Father’s desire is to remove us from a state of sin.

To lead us to a state of grace and righteousness.

He is constantly reminding us that Christ had temptations and conflicts.

Showing us how He overcame them all.

That when we open the doors of our hearts it is what makes us more than a conqueror through Him.

It is something that was already was done by His redeeming sacrifice of Christ at Calvary.

We just have to repent and believe.

Standing on His promises, His Word and Spirit.

Acknowledging that Christ is still graciously, knocking on the doors of the hearts of sinners.

Knocking and asking that we personally accept Him as Savior (Revelation 3:20 KJV).

Knowing that when we do, our eyes will be opened to see all the blessings He has for us.

It is important for all of us to continue to exam ourselves according to the Word.

Earnestly praying for the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

Asking to have anything that is not of God to be taken away.

The Father is always knocking loud enough for a willing soul to hear.

It is up to each of us to open the door.

Those made like to Christ in his trials, shall be made like to him in glory.

We should all desire to receive the blessings that come when we open the door to Him.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that it is Your desire for us to live an abundant life. Through Christ, You have given us a way for it to be possible. You are standing at the doors of our hearts. Knocking and waiting for us to let You in. May those who have not yet opened their door realize how important it is that they do. Putting all their trust in You is the best thing anyone can do. Thank You for always knocking loud enough for all to hear. We pray that those who have not opened the door to receive You and those who need to open the door to repentance do so this day. Praying that even those who are steadfast in the Word will remember that You will still knock on their door with blessings to help them stay strong. Let us all be willing to keep our trust in You.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
